The New York Times had a column titled "Marine Intelligence" appearing in the
classifieds near the end of each issue. That listed the arrivals,
departures, and notes about ships for the day before. It should list the captain's
name, number of passengers, and length of the passage at least. Check the issue
on 14 April 1912.
Titanic sank on the morning of 15 April however.
