However I am familiar with that info from the manifest markings page

1) those markings you mentioned are followed by number and the date

2) those markings you mentioned are found in the immigrant name column

The ones on Johann's manifest appear to be part of the original manifest notations and not added later and

1) the markings on Johann's manifest incl no date

3) the markings on Johann's manifest are in the "By whom was passage paid" column
