Have just been playing with my latest toy - Historic Parishes of England and
Wales - which is described as being an Electronic Map of Boundaries before
1850 with a Gazetteer and Metadata.

To experiment I looked at the complex issue of Banbury and its neighbours.
Details of the gazetteer entries are below, but basically Nethercote and
Grimsbury were part of the ecclesiastical parish of Banbury in Oxfordshire
but for highway repairs `and all other civil purposes' were part of
Warkworth in Northamptonshire.

Neithrop and Wykham were both included in the ecclesiastical parish of
Banbury, but separate from it for all civil matters.

One day I'll finish that list of streets within the pre 1889 Banbury borough
boundaries.

Regards,

Jack Steer
