With regard to Peter Snow''s book on the Home Children I may be able to help
anyone looking for information on the Middlemore Homes, Birmingham as I have
just completed my Uni. dissertation on this from 1893-1914. This covers the
period when children were sent to Canada. I did not touch the later period
when, due to Canada tightening up its immigration policy, children were sent
to Australia.

Having said that I'm afraid my results were one mark short of what would have
made me happy. This means the pressure is still on and I must work really
hard until end of June. Family history therefore has to take a back-seat, so
anyone contacting me please be patient and I will do my best.
