Found the St Mary the Great marriage now on Phillimore's index, and it looks much more promising:

15 Feb 1778 John Finch widower of Swavesey and Elizabeth Phillips, by licence

A John Finch married Elizabeth Wetenhall on 10 March 1778 at St Sepulchre's
Cambridge, by liicence. Both otp (Phillimore's marriage index)
