Hi there all, I need some help with a query that is not Cambridgeshire
related. As you have all been so helpful in the past, thought I would give
it a go. If you cannot help me then that is fine.

My query relates to a marriage and a death record in Scotland.

I have a marriage of a James Johnston in 1872 parents James Johnston and Mary Wilson. James occ Ploughman and father was a Carter. Wife Janet Mary or Merry Black her parents are John Black and Mary Dick. According to IGI they have 2 children James and John Black Johnston. I found her death in 1927 Coatbridge, Lanark, John Black Johnston (son) being the informant. Parents are correct. Husband is a carting contractor. Says she is a widow of James Johnston. So I then looked for a death for a James Johnston. Found one in 1902. He is the husband of Janet Merry Black but it states his parents are James Johnston and Sarah Johnston nee Anderson. Also states that he is a carter and father is a carting contractor.I am confused!!!!! How can this be. Is this just a mistake by the informant???? I have checked out birth info for James and his parents are James and Mary nee Wilson. Any input would be appreciated. This has totally thrown me. Thank you Hayley from Downunder.
