Subject: [ENG-CANAL-PEOPLE] Allbrook v Holbrook
Date: Fri, 25 Jan 2008 17:05:53 -0000
I am looking at a different branch of the ALLBROOK family who worked on the
Canals for over 150 years. I hope that I will establish that it is much
longer than that but so far its just 150 years.
When I look at the 1871 Census I discover a family of Allbrook in Yorkshire,
no longer working on Canals but clearly recorded and transcribed as
Allbrook. When I search for the marriage and the birth registration I find
them clearly recorded as HOLBROOK. They do not appear as ALLBROOK after
the 1871 census
Is anyone researching the HOLBROOK family? In particular I am interested in
Marriages Mar 1860 HOLBROOK Thomas Dudley 6c 27
Marriages Mar 1860 Bourn Anna Maria Dudley 6c 27
This marriage is also recorded from the Parish Record as HOLBROOK and BOURN
Births Dec 1860 HOLBROOK James Doncaster 9c 445
Births Sep 1862 HOLBROOK Henry Doncaster 9c 46*
Births Dec 1865 HOLBROOK Walter Doncaster 9c 491
Births Dec 1868 HOLBROOK Mary Ann Doncaster 9c 557
Births Mar 1871 HOLBROOK Enoch Rotherham 9c 567
Any comments would be appreciated
