Hi Elaine

The stolen Methodist registers that you are thinking of were the ones held
at Chapel Street for the Primitive and Wesleyan Methodists Chapels from
Chapel Street and Zion Street which were stolen after a break in in the
past.
I would like to give a date but honestly I cant remember it is such a long
time ago.perhaps in the 1980s or maybe as late as the 1990s.

The parish records were taken and never recovered.

Such a waste

It certainly gives a valid reason for them to be copied and transferred to
local archives or County Record Offices doesn't it?
