I have been advised by an email correspondent that she has a document that
says that St Marys, Bowdon Parish records show that a Richard Arderne of
Timperley was a son of Robert Arderne (b. abt 1570) of Timperley.

According to Ormerod, Robert was the illegitimate son of William Arderne,
one time Mayor of
Timperley, born about 1520 and died in August 1584 in Timperley. William was
the occupant of Timperley Hall and Lord of the Arderne Estates covering a
large part of the Timperley area. I do not have a confirmed year of birth
for Robert.

Can anyone throw any light on the possible father son relationship between
Robert and a Richard? I do know from William's will (1584) that Robert's
wife's name was Anne, so If Robert was married when William's will was
written then I would expect that he was born prior to 1570.

Can Dereck Murdie confirm that there is a record of the bapt. of a Richard
Arderne son of Robert and Anne, late 1500's ?

any help appreciated
