Subject: [Redruth] 1871 Census - Thomas Peters

Heather Pearce is searching for a Thomas Peters, married in 1871. Dallas Kent suggested a search through the census data.
A free searchable version of the 1871 census for Cornwall is available on-line at http://www.mytrees.com/cgi-bin/genealogy/navf?-1+0+S+English
Try entering the last name PETERS and the first name T (with birth dates between 1771 and 1871) and you'll find 44 individuals popping up. Most of these have the forename Thomas, but appear as THOS (and variants). Refine the birth date, and I guess there's a fair chance that the Thomas Peters who is sought by Heather will be found.
Since the 1871 census was taken on 2 April, it is likely that Heather's Thomas Peters will not be living with his wife (since they were married in the June Quarter of that year - 1 April - 30 June), but there is a possibility that he will be found in the household of his parents.
Good luck
