Could someone assist me in records of
Matthew Skews and Betsy Tressider and their family? He was born 1832 Truro Fathers name was Peter.
She was born 1841 Truro. They had 7 children. Betsy passed away 1895 and was living in Redruth at the time.
They attended the Christian Bible Chapel. Where is she buried? When did Matthew pass on? Where is he buried?
Three boys were born in the Truro area William John 1862,
Matthew (son) approx. 1865, Thomas in 1867. The family then moved to Yorkshire/Durham area. Little Matthew died and was buried in the Truro area. Four more children followed. George in 1869, Mary Jane 1871, Elizabeth 1874 and another baby Matthew (Mathew) in 1879 . Some of the boys , men by then, remained in Yorkshire while the rest of the family seems to have returned to Redruth. Perhaps Betsy was ill, who knows? But Elizabeth was married to a man named Rowe. Mary Jane to a man named Albert Earnest Heath in the Christian Bible Chapel. They had 2 babies. Could you find when they were baptized? What their names were and when they died, what they might have died from so young and where they are buried? Albert and Mary Jane left England for America in 1895 after the babies and Grandma died. Mary Jane was my Great Grandmother.
I remember her well. I also remember the smell of coal fire coming from her kitchen cook stove and the aroma of pasties baking. Yes, I'm getting up there in age too, but still working 10 hrs a day in the Real Estate business after having stage 3 cancer 5 years ago. Made of tough English stock. Thanking you in advance for any help.
