In the 1891 census. William T(homas) ASHTON, age 39, and born in
Glossop, Derbyshire, was living in Workington in Cumberland. He was a
married man, but his wife Annie ASHTON, age 39 born in Lancashire (in
either Southport or Tarleton) was not with him.
I do not have further access to either the 1891 or 1901 census, and
am hoping one of the listers might be able to help locate Annie in the
1891 census, or the couple in 1901; it is my belief they were both still
alive.
