Hello all.
I have just taken over the Co-ordinators job for Derbyshire FreeREG and
would like to make myself known to you.
I have been Co-ord for Lincolnshire for a year or more now and we have got
to grips with transcribing for that County.
Now I have started Derbyshire and see that we have not a lot on the database
yet, and I hope we can alter that state of affairs.
For those of you who do not know FreeREG, I can say that it is the youngest
element of the FreeBMD, FreeCEN group, and aims to have a database for
Parish Register events online for free.
The site is http://freereg.rootsweb.com/ and will be a very important
tool for tracing ancestors
First of all can I ask that if anyone has any transcripts in any shape or
form [word, spreadsheet etc] would they consider donating a copy to
us.......Any transcripts are not made available in any way except that they
will be on a searchable database.
I would also need volunteers to transcribe registers when I get hold of
some, so anyone out there willing? All assistance will be given. promise.
!!! :-)
I would also ask that if a couple of ladies out there by the name of Sandra
and Libby, who have uploaded transcripts already, could they get in touch
with me
Thats all for now
Regards
Gordon Warrington
