Can anyone give me information on the following? Jack Tucker and his siblings (in order of birth) Ellen, Dorothy, Simon and Hilda. They were all born in the 1890s.(Hilda claimed to have been born in the 1900's, but Dorothy said she was wrong!). I am helping a friend with his family tree and, whereas we are doing fine on everyone else, I have hit a wall with these. All I know is anecdotal and amounts to this: Jack lived for many years at West Alvington. Hilda married ( we think a Derrick) and lived at Hope Cove. She had no children. At one time Dorothy and Simon were living together at Galmpton. Given that at least 4 of them were at one time in the Kingsbridge District, and also the local name, it seems probable they were born around Kingsbridge - but I do not know. I have found a Dorothy and a Dorothea on free BMD for Kingsbridge, but in the 1900's. There are several John's and Hilda's. A Simon Blank Tucker seems a distinct possibility , but even if we send for his certificate I do not know he is the right one. The only Simon Tucker I found on the 1901 census was born in Russia and was far too old.
I know it is a real shot in the dark, but I just wondered if anyone could help...
With thanks, Margaret
