Further to my earlier posting about names in Weymouth, I have now updated my
website with a piece about male and female naming traditions in England and
Wales from Anglo-Saxons times to present day - though it is just an outline
of the main trends so don't expect huge detail. Wherever possible I have
given examples of names still found in Weymouth in 1891(female only) and
given the top 50 female names in Weymouth in 1891 too. I will up date with
male names when I have done them!

I am very proud of this page :-)) Having relied on Steve to put all my
material on the web up till now, I bought a book on webpages myself on
Saturday and have taught myself very basic HTML! Now I know what to do,
there will be no stopping me and I am going to start on the Dorset Look Up
pages tomorrow!

Anyway - if you have an interest in names or Weymouth, have a look. Website
URL:
http://www.melcombe.freeserve.co.uk/ then the page is titled Naming
Traditions.
