Dear Don,

There is a church listed in "Buildings of England - Dorset" by Pevsney
(which I borrowed from my local public library a while ago) at Canford
Magna.

Nothing for Great Canford.

Was not the Magna Carta, also called the GREAT Charter.

I would surmise, (not knowing the place) that Great Canford and
Canford Magna are the same place with someone "translating" Magna into
Great for the VRI. But no doubt someone with personal knowledge of
the place can confirm.
