I have JOHN FERENS living at 14, School Row, Hylton, age 36. b.IRE., DERRY m. to Elizabeth, age 38. b.Mid. London. and NORA aged 15 (my granny) b.DUR. SUNDERLAND. I have been unable to find any info. on NORA's birth so unable to get a birth certificate. To complicate matters, I have been unable to find any record of a marriage between JOHN and ELIZABETH. Could they have been, (were they) "living in tally". ;-)) Different birth certificates of my mother's siblings spell the name FARNES, FERNES, and FERENS. Would appreciate any light on the matter, especially NORA's birth. She may have been baptised a Catholic T.I.A.
