George Arnett was a hosier and draper at 23 High Street, Sunderland in 1850.
He married Emma/Amy Beaver in 1847 when she was a widow and I think she
brought the shop into the marriage. They show there together in the 1851
census when it appeared briefly last weekend on Ancestry.

Does any one have a directory which would identify who ran the
hosier/drapers shop before 1847? I think it might have been John Calvert.

I have posted about this before and people have suggested marriages. I am
currently trying to look at the history of the shop at that address.
