Was this the site of an anti-aircraft battery protecting Hendon Paper Mill
during WW2?

The site I gave,
http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/upload/pdf/NERCZA_finalreport_small.pdf?1 lists WWII military features. Major Sites which
survive, whole or in part, are described in detail, with minor, ephemeral and
destroyed sites being recorded in tabular form. If this was a military site it
will be listed, but being so close to the Ryhope heavy anti-aircraft
battery, I would not expect it to be one. The other heavy anti-aircraft battery
for Sunderland was in Thompson Park.
