This place is Yackandandah, a gold-mining town in North-East Victoria,
lovely spot. As it happens, my beloved is listowner of the AUS-VIC-NORTHEAST
list, so think I will blow his brian by posting direct to the list, to see
if anyone can help further.

I did suspect because there is only an initial, and not a name, that the bub
may not have survived, but I cannot find a reference to the death. I do have
Victorian Deaths 1921-1985, but he ain't in there.
