Hi Carole
The Plough Inn was in fact in Tresham which was a Hamlet of Hawkesbury at the time of the census its last known publican was William John SHELLARD abt 1939 its the only known pub in Tresham, The 1891 census shows no sign of it but I do know it was sited in the center of the village near the church and school it probably closed due to lack of trade as it was to far for my grandfather Ernest CHAPPELL to travel, The missing Pub from the book a monument to Hawkesbury is probably the New Inn I believe it was sited on the Plain at Hawkesbury opposite what was Thompsons Store I did see a reference to it once but can't find it now?
regards
Robert
