Sarah, widow of Robert Batten of Bagstone Court Farm, died 17 May 1849.
Sarah had remarried James COX. Below are the some of the details of Robert's
residual estate which his widow as testatrix had power to appoint by her
will. The executrix was Sarah GAINER. There were bequests to many members
of the WERRETT family, and included William WERRETT a yeoman of Hillsby in
the parish of Hawkesbury, who was left £200 to be shared among his children
at his death. £1,000 was left to Elizabeth WERRETT of Cheltenham, wife of
George WERRETT to be shared among her children at her death. Sarah ELLIOT
(nee Werrett) wife of Llewellin Elliott. Martha WHITWORTH (nee Werrett) wife
of James Whitworth.

Also mentioned are many GAINER's, among them Maria Louisa, wife of Henry
SLOCOMBE, Elizabeth Mary, wife of Thomas BROWN, Mary wife of Oliver HULBERT
and Hester wife of Henry SMITH.

Can anyone enlighten me re the relationship of any of the above with the
Batten family.

Many thanks

Shirley Askins
