That is such an interesting article and thank you. I have copied it
for my records along with the estate agent's particulars.
Just looked back in my diaries and I see that it was 1985 when I visited

it the first time. As I said, it was empty and I note that the
fumigators were in so perhaps it had been empty for some time. The
second time was in 1994 and the owner at that time was a Hugh Taylor. I
think he lived alone and just appeared at Saddlewood on the occasional
weekend from London . His housekeeper Betty did indeed live in the
cottage. I wonder if she is still there.

Yes, Carole it occurred to me that we could all put in, like a time
share and run it as a very up-market guest house :-) . Now there's an
idea!
