Hi Jim
I've just looked up this marriage on the Hawkesbury St Mary's PR.
The entry reads:
John SIMS & Mary TANDY both of this parish by Banns June 29 1789.
The Banns Register has:
No 295 John SIMES and Sarah TANDY of this parish; Potter COLE Vicar.
John signed his name as John SIMS & the mark of Sarah TAHDY.
Witnesses were Patience THOMPSON & James RODWAY.
James RODWAY was a witness to most of the marriages at this time.
I don't know whether this will help but at least you have confirmation
of the marriage.
Cheers
Carole
