Hi Bob
Just to let you know that Steven TURNER has already contacted Robert,
who forwarded the email to me because of the WATTS connection. I sent
Steven my file on the family. I also roped in Cousin Kay and Jane
Gosselin on a theory that George CHAPPELL senior may have married Jane
TILLING. Her age and birthplace match that of George's wife Jane and
there is a marriage on FreeBMD which may well be them.

Kay is, once again, waving his credit card around and has applied for
some certificates, both Engliah and Australian in an attempt to sort
this family out. I will, of course, let you know the outcome.

So far we have been unable to persuade Steven to join the Hawkesbury
list!

Thanks for your message, and for the information about George Chappell.
There was a lot of inter-marriage (and other relationships) between the
Chappells and Watts and Toghill families. My own connection with them is
that Jane Watts nee Toghill was the younger sister of Charles Toghill,
and
he was the second husband of my gt-gt-grandmother Elizabeth Cooper nee
Tavender.

The information that I have posted on RootsWeb World Connect (also
available
on Ancestry.com) represents virtually all I know about this family. Some
I
have discovered myself, but a lot more has come from members of the
Hawkesbury mailing list. This is also hosted by RootsWeb, and you can

this mailing list has come a website all about Hawkesbury compiled by

|It appears that George Chappell who married Jane Watts brother of
|Mary Ann Chappell is my great grand father who remarried after
|Jane Watts died at Chiltern Victoria 1892. After remarrying his
|new wife Catherine Chappell (nee Higgins) 1893 moved to
|Cootamundra New South Wales. At some time during this period he
|changed his name to Turner - hence my surname Turner. Through my
|research I have gathered some information that confirms he was
|George Chappell born 1863 Somerset. I would hope that I could be
