Eric
I did a bit of research a while ago and local help depends on the current
curator of the regimental museum. My notes are all filed elsewhere but I
think the chap at the Glosters was quite helpful - but with regimental
mergers etc you sometimes have to persevere - best help I ever got was the
curator of the museum of the Regiment of the South Wales Borderers - he was
a star on the information front! It also depends on regimental archiving
policy.
Anyway here's where you start:
http://www.glosters.org.uk/
I wrote a letter to the regimental secretary on the "contact us page" (It
was B4 they had an email address I think!!)
Good Luck
