Hi Marilyn

Happy New Year to you too - and to all our readers!

I've just looked for the burial of George HULBERT in the Hawkesbury PRs
I would say that the squiggle is definitely Years, not days.

No 1024, George HULBERT, Hawkesbury, 30 years

Cheers

Carole

Dear All
Happy New Year to everyone! I hope the year brings you more successes in
your search for ancestors and family history.
I decided I had to find a bit of time for research - hard to come by
recently - and went back to FreeBMD to catch up with updates. Since my
last search, I found a new entry - for my elusive Samuel HULBERT I'm
fairly sure, marrying a Martha FLOOK in Bristol in 1848.
Robert, bless him, was able to share the image from the 1851 census (I
had only Gordon' index transcript previously) which shows "my" Samuel
with wife Martha living next door to Martha FLOOK and her sons in
Winterbourne, - so I think the circumstantial evidence is strong that
this is the right marriage. I'll just have to get the certificate now
to finally prove it!!
In 1851 they have a child George born in Charlton 1850 BUT I haven't
found any definite proof of them later - the nearest I have is a Martha
HULBERT of the correct age with 2 daughters Anne and Martha and son
Edward living in Bristol St George. These names are too common to read
too much into this, but Anne and Edward are names used by the HULBERT
family (my dad is one of them- and it's not Anne!!)

So after years of searching I have more on Samuel as well as his brother
George - who is listed on Robert's web page in the burial index as being
buried in 1855 age 30. (It says possibly 30 days, but the age is
correct for my missing George). I also believe he worked at Kingston nr
Thornbury in 1851 and appears on the census there - so as he died only 5
years later I have only a 5 year window now to find any possible
marriage for him.

If any of this jars anyone's memory about these families or names, I'd
be glad to hear from you,
Marilyn
