I think that sounds like a good match (and yes, East Dean is counted in the
Forest of Dean).

My next step would be to check the 1891 census. Then check the marriage
registers at the FRC (plus, of course FreeBMD, etc.) for wedding details.
Start at about 1892 and work forwards.
