Dear Kingsclere,
My great-great-grandfather was Thomas (Tom) ROGERS who, I believe, was born
in East Woodhay, on 6 June 1849 and probably grew up in Kingsclere.
His mother was Sophia DIGGONS and his father George, 'a servant'.
Tom worked as a mailcart driver between Bridport and Dorchester and
features in both places in the 1881 and the 1891 censuses!
He married Ann Eliza FORSEY (born 24 Dec 1851) in Bridport, Dorset, where
he lived until his death in about 1909.
I would be interested of hear of any connections.
Thanks.
Elizabeth Hollick
