Here is the address of a copy of the conservation area map of Kingsclere
which gives the modern numbering of the houses.
The south edge of The Dell is the face of the chalk quarry.

I'm not sure about the date of the photo 16 as it shows the Council Houses
in Basingstoke Road. I don't think they were built until later, I will check
tomorrow. I will also see if anyone can identify the houses shown with
todays map. The problem is that a lot have been demolished and the sites
redeveloped. For political/monetry reasons the houses in The Dell were kept
from being listed in the 1960's.

The picture of the thatched cottage is the last one in The Dell, todays
number is 14.

Have a look at picture 21, you'd be dead if you tried that today.
