June 10 1716
Memorandum that upon the 10th day of June (being a Sunday) in the year of
our Lord 1716, there were found in a certain ground (belonging to Arthur
HYDE Esq & called by the name of Burlongs) the remains of a man who had
there hanged himself upon one of the trees and there the said remains lye
buried.There was found in his pocket an iron tobacco box and in there were
about twenty shillings.Who he was it was never known.This was written by
Thomas HUGHES Vicar of Catherington at the same time.
