near Winchester it's Micheldever, no t. ______________________________
True, but can anyone still in UK tell me the correct pronunciation, please?
I was born in Southampton with Winchester & Romsey rellies & spent the 1st
25 yrs of my life hearing Micheldever pronounced 2 ways -
'Micheldeever' as in cleaver & 'Micheldevver' as in clever.
Is that still what happens or is there a clear winner these days?
Would love to know.
Thankyou
Maureen, a Hampshire Hog in Kiwiland
