I had this as a reply some time ago re electoral registers.....

comes within Southwick and Widley, for which we hold 1932-present day
registers. Catherington is slightly more complicated because of boundary
changes; we should have 1889-1948 and 1975-present day registers, but for
the intervening period we will only have the Horndean end, not the Havant
end.

Prior to 1889 we have a few registers which have survived by chance, but not
many. We do however have census returns and in many cases rating or land tax
records which may help to fill the gap if you are looking for names of
owners and occupiers rather than specifically studying electoral figures.

You would be very welcome to visit us to look at all these records. Many of
the pre-1920 registers are on microfilm, so you may wish to ring to book a
microfilm reader; otherwise no appointment is needed.
