My Joys (as far back as I have gotten at this time) began in Dorset, with
Thomas, b. 1748; married Sybil unknown; had at least 3 children: Frederick,
Stephen, and Ann. I descend from Frederick.

As far as is known, Stephen died about age 30, unmarried.
Ann married James VINE(C)Y, and had at least 5 children: Aurthur, Phoebe,
Eliza, Sybil, and Frederick.

Frederick m. Charlotte GRE(A)Y; they had at least 6 children: Mary Sybil,
Thomas, John Wardner , Frederick, Jasper, and James Grey.

Mary Sybil, died 1864........married???????unmarried????????? unknown at
this point.

*********THOMAS JOY married ELIZA GOULD on Aug. 20,1831 and became YEOMAN
FARMER IN SOPLEY, HAMPSHIRE. *******
This is the JOY that I am really hoping to find a connection for on this
list. Thomas and Eliza had at least 2 daughters: Anna Charlotte, b.1833,
became a school mistress. And Jane Eliza, b. 1845, and died 1847. There
may have been more children between or after those 2.

John W.(my direct ancestor) emigrated to USA.
Frederick, unknown whether married, moved, or anything at this point
Jasper married Rosanna MARSH, became a harness maker and setteled in
Islington, Middlesex West London. 2 children (that I know of): Frederick
(listed as a harnessmaker) and Walter (Stationer).
James Grey, unknown whether married, whereabouts, at this point.

The family has always been very strong on using 'family' names, both in the
very earliest times and still in this present day, both in England and in
the U.S. Those names are: Thomas, Jasper, John, Gre(a)y, Frederick, Wardner,
Charlotte, Eliza, Sybil, and others, depending upon various spouses parents
and sibs.

There might be a possibility that we could connect somewhere along the way
and I would be quite willing to share if we do.

Thanks for reading, Pat, in Oregon USA
