Subject: [Herts] JAMES THRIFT BORN KINGS LANGLEY
Date: Sat, 21 Jul 2001 09:35:12 +0800

Hi List

James THRIFT was born in Kings Langley, Herts c1772 according to the
1851 census of Iver Bucks. His wife's name was Ann (maiden name
unknown) and she was born c1777 in Fulmer, Bucks. They were baptising
children in Iver from 1807. There were also children born to a James
and Ann Thrift in Fulmer from 1798 to 1804.

I have seen on the IGI a James EVILTHRIFT baptised 1772 in
Rickmansworth, Herts and married to an Ann NASH in 1797 in
Rickmansworth. A James EVILTHRIFT appears on the 1798 Posse Comitatus
for Bucks, but James THRIFT doesn't. It occurred to me that James
EVILTHRIFT and James THRIFT may have been the same person. Does anyone
have any knowledge of either surname?

Thanks
