I've recently discovered that Kezia WALLER last seen in the 1841 Census of Two Waters, Hemel Hempstead married Joseph GEARY born in Gt.Berkhamstead.c.1821. They had two children before they sailed to NSW on the 'Thomas Artbuthnot' on 17 January 1849.

From the information I've been given (transcription of Joseph's death from NSW Registry of BMD's) Joseph's father's name was also Joseph and he was a 'Farmer'.

I'm unable to find a baptism for Joseph GEARY and the 1861 Census only has 'GEARY' names born in Northchurch which is of course possible as the two places are so close together. There is a Joseph GEARY aged 72 (widower) lodging with a family in Bushey although he says he's an ag.lab. and not a farmer.

I'm hoping that someone will have access to the 1841 Census when I should find Joseph at home with his parents.

Many thanks for any help.

Sue (Kent)
