Subject: [HRT] BIRTH OR BAPTISM OF HANNAH WRIGHT
Date: Mon, 5 Mar 2007 14:57:04 -0500
Hannah Wright and her parentage are another of my brickwalls.
All Census information available for her shows she is born St. Albans, Herts. about 1801 - 1803. She is married in 1830 by Banns in the Parish of St. Peter, St. Albans. I cannot quite make out the name of the minister but it looks like possibly Wm.? Donald. She has 3 children baptised in the same Parish, and she is sent back to this Parish's Union Workhouse.
On the 1861 Census for Bethnal Green, London a sister, Edith Wright, age 46, unmarried, is also shown living with Hannah and her family. Unfortunately, I cannot find Edith on the 1841 or 1851 Census. Edith died prior to the 1861 Census.
Now, I have found on the IGI a birth entry for an Edith Wright, born 16 Aug 1807 Saint Peter, Saint Albans, parents John Wright and Ann. C072862. There is no entry for Hannah Wright.
I would appreciate knowing what baptisms other than the IGI are available on line, if any. Pallot's records show her marriage and the entries for her children but nothing for Hannah herself. I think I have reached the end of my research using Ancestry.
Can anyone recommend a researcher in the area. Wright is a popular name in this area and I am sure I could keep someone busy for a while pursuing this family.
Again, many thanks.
