I have just started on this family for my bother in law, they came from the
Dukinfield / Stalybridge area and as far as we are aware where in that area
from at least 1800. None has ever to our knowledge ever emigrated, although
there is a branch now in Liverpool. I stress these points to avoid requests from
other areas and countries :-)
I have the following few names as as sample:
John TRAVIS b 1811
Samuel TRAVIS b 1837
John TRAVIS b 1859
Samuel TRAVIS b 1866
Frank TRAVIS b 1894
All where born in Stalybridge or Dukinfield. I have managed to find them on
all the census returns, so no lookups required, thanks. What I am hoping for
is to find someone else researching this name!
