I am very grateful for these additional census data, Martin. Since I
don't have access to them, I am doubly grateful.

About the Deansgate address, and to complicate matters, they are at
Deansgate in the 1841 & 1861 Censuses.

However, for the 1851 they are around the corner at 49 Chorley New
Road, while, at the same time, the two eldest sons, apprentices and
servants are in Deansgate! With 12 or so children, plus servants and
apprentices, I take it that there might have been an accommodation
problem!

I am quite interested in the business activities of the family because
one of my long-term projects has been the study of immigrants from the
various parts of the UK to the 1850s goldfields of Victoria. In
particular, how the family backgrounds influenced the future
activities of the immigrants after they stopped gold digging and
settled down. In the case of two of James Morris's sons, they
established similar businesses to that of their father in Bolton, to
provide the needs of gold diggers.
