I thought this may be of interest to someone:

I recently had the film of St.. Michael's Tonge BTS. At the end of the film
they had stuck a few minor Churches that I hadn't heard of that came under
the Parish of Middleton. Once was Cockey chapel, another was Chapelry of
Ashworth. The film was in a very bad state in places, quite unreadable from
water damage but there were still lots that with a bit of diligence you
could read. I copied all the Smith, Booth, Moors and Horridge and a few
Stansfields and Lords. I don't know if they are of any use to you but I had
an extra hour to spend there. Incidentally, if any of these are yours there
are lots more Lords. If you know anyone researching Greenhalgh there were
more of them than any other name.

Marriages:

8 June 1813 Alice Stansfield/ Edmund Meadin

Sept. 14 1817 Sally Stansfield / Henry Crosley

Sept. 5 1827 Abraham Stansfield / Joanne Lee
(labourer) the only one with an occupation

Baptisms

June 1 1817 Robert James & Mary Lord
of Ashworth

Feb 1 1818 Robert John & Alice Lord of Maison Baglet

April 18 1824 Alice Rachel & Owen Lloyd
Labourer (Bottom of th Acre)

Burials

March 22 1873 Ann d. of John & Ellen Lord age 3 3/4

Cockey Moor is part of Ainsworth near Radcliffe, Greater Manchester.
the name is supposed to derive from either the Celtic word 'cock' meaning
'red earth',
or from clay, so the name would be Clayey Moor.
The Chapel is properly called Ainsworth Church and the list of priests
commence in 1515 with
an entry thus: The Chapelry of Cockey in the Parish of Middleton - Sir Olvy
Issherwoode Parish Priest of Middleton.
There is a Dissenters' Chapel (opened 1662) which was originally
Presbyterian up to 1791 then
Unitarian since then. Ainsworth Methodist Chapel opened in 1914.
All the above information is taken from a book called "The Story of Cockey
Moor otherwise Ainsworth" compiled in 1973
by the vicar of Ainsworth Rev.KP Bullock
Hope they are of some use
