I hope I've had a breakthrough on my gt gt grandmother (Jane PILLING). It is looking as if
she was the illegitimate daughter (born 1821) of Joseph HILL and Ann PILLING. Joseph and
Ann seemed to have got around to marrying in 1823 (perhaps there was a Mrs Hill who had
to die first?).

Has anone anything on a Joseph HILL (probably born 1771-1776) and Ann PILLING
(probably born 1776 to 1781)?
