Thanks to Val and Terry for your replies.I've found out where the info.is re.watchmakers(it's at Liverpool) and I've been given the name of the archivist so I hope to be in contact soon.I've been looking for the CdRom site and found http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LAN/lprs/pricelist.pdf They have the following info.
CD76--- Prescot (St Mary) MR 76.............. C 1580-1631/2 M 1575-1631/2 B1573-1632 £3.50 £5.00

Prescot (St Mary) MR114 .................. M 1632-1666, C & B 1632-1664 £2.00 £3.00

CD149-- Prescot (St Mary) (MR149).....................C M &B 1665-1726 £4.00 £5.50

This doesn't help me at the moment but it might help Val.I live near a LDS centre so I will try there for later entries.
