Hello all,
Re-sending my interests(as of 5-28-00)
I'm looking for anyone who is interested in TAGG, COULTAS and RINGROSE in
Lincolnshire. My TAGG/COULTAS folks left Lincolnshire(?) in ca1843 for the
US. The COULTASes were owners of the Perseverance Iron Works in Grantham,
Lincs. Why did Thomas RINGROSE TAGG and his wife Mary (COULTAS) leave the
rest of the family and go to the US? Freda Harte()
suggests Mary married "below her staion"(she was the boss' daughter, he may
have been an employee). I wonder if anyone has information about the
Perseverance Iron Works. I do know they made farm equipment.
Thomas R was son of John TAGG(no ifo) and Susanna RINGROSE; he was born 8
Oct 1814, chr 17 Oct 1814 in Gedney, Lincs., he and Mary were marr 8 Mar 1837
in Grantham, Lincs, and 6 years later went to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where
he died in 1864. In those 27 years they had 12 ch(my GF was # 11). She
remarried James Madison MOORE, died in Waco Nebraska in 1892.
I don't know anything else about John TAGG, but Susanna RINGROSE was dtr of
Thomas RINGROSE and Sarah DAUDISON. Susanna was born April 20, 1770 in Long
Sutton, Lincs.
Mary COULTAS was dtr of James COULTAS and Mary TROLLEY and was born in
Grantham.
Mary TROLLEY's parents were John TROLLEY and Ann MARRIOTT, no info on them;
she was born on Feb 2, 1789 in South Stoke, (Lincs?).
Any information or connections, anyone? Thanks
