Hi List

Just a query, when my husband's ggrandfather was married in 1879 his occupation was Bookkeeper, but in the 1881 and subsequent censuses he has his occupation as labourer or dock labourer. Has anyone else come across this sort of thing. Someone has suggested perhaps he would earn more money on the docks than as a bookkeeper.
