You hit the nail on the head there, I agree - have always felt an affinity
with Glaswegians, enjoy and understand their humour and they seem to accept
Scousers more so than anyone from other parts of Britain, with the exception
of Geordies
. Always found Glaswegians to be down to earth, they don't suffer fools
gladly or anyone who puts on 'airs and graces" and enjoy mickey taking
(making fun of and teasing in a joking way) all in a similar way to Scousers
and of course you don't mess with them either!! Hard working and living
conditions breed hard people but as in Liverpool their great sense of humour
has seen them through some tough times
Have spent a lot of time up in Glasgow visiting family and once spent a very
enjoyable holiday in Florida staying with some Glaswegian family members who
live over there. Again I was told I wasn't "English" as in "och yer OK, yer
no' English yer a scouser"! . Can't remember the last time I laughed so much
- probably when I was last living on Merseyside ...(my husbands mother is a
Glaswegian MCPHEE and I have a Scottish ggrandmother Mary GORDON, her family
moved down from Glasgow to work at LAIRDS ship building)
Have really been enjoying the humerous posts here - thanks to the List Owner
who allows them to carry on without interference - great list
