Hello Denise,

In recent weeks I bought at half price (£4.99) in Tescos, Allerton a book
called Britain in Old Photographs: Liverpool by Catherine Rothwell (ISBN
1-84015-171-4) the edition published in 2000 by Budding Books from an
imprint of Sutton Publishing. It's packed wth old photos and some text and
includes sections on shipping and the waterfront.

I also bought another book recently called Images of England: Liverpool
Docks £10.99 compiled by Michael Stammers first published in 1999 by Tempus
Publishing Ltd (ISBN 0 7524 1712 6). Again, stuffed with fascinating photos.
