Hello List and Happy New Year to you all,

I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of an online
resource that would convert Victorian money into today's £s value? I have
will dated 1846 in which £49 was left and I'd like to know what that would
be worth today. I've tried numerous retail price index sites, but
unfortunately they only go back as far as 1915. Really I need to find a good
source on (19th economics.

TIA for any help and suggestions,

Gabrielle
