Hi Helen,

It sounds to me as if you have two different men here. One born 1821 (the
Scottish gardener) and the other in 1814 (who marries Patience in Liverpool.

But it would be a better story if they were one and the same!

Gay

Can I just run something by all you wise ones, and seewhat you make of it.
Yes, I know, it's ol' Archie Kay, again.
1841 census Walton-on-the-Hill
Archibald Kay, 20, Gardener, b.Scotland
1845 my Archibald Kay marries PatienceHodge in Liverpool. His occupation is
Engineer. Hisaddress is the Hodge's home.
1851 census Dumfries, Scotland
Archibald Kay, 37, Gardener, b.St Cuthburts Edinburgh
Catherine Honor (wife), 42, b.England
1851 census Toxteth
my Archibald isn't listed with his wife Patience and their 2 sons.
December 1851 Patience remarries as 'widow' (Not been able to check the 1861
census to find her and the boys withnew husband John Henry Pollard Livesey)
1871 census Sandown Road, Seaforth
Archibald Kay, 57, lodger, Gardener, b.Scotland
Catherin (wife)62, lodger's wife, b.Beverley, Yorkshire.
Death 1876 Archibald Kay, 63. (from the death certificate he was a gardener,
and at his death was C Kay.

Question: have my skeletons crashed out of my closet? Is this Archibald one
and the same?
Remember, my Archibald's death has not been found anywhere.

What do you reckon???

Helen
