Hi to all
Does anybody on here have an index to the 1871 census of Liverpool? I have
a subscription to Ancestry.co.uk but cannot find my ancestors using the
search facility including soundex, I have tried every variation I can think
of for the surname PRITCHARD.
In 1881 Martha is a 40 widow living in Tenderden Street with 4 children (In
1891 she is a 50 widow living with one of her sons in Everton).
21 Tenderden Street
Martha PRITCHARD 40, Charwoman, born Liverpool
Thomas PRITCHARD 15, son, Errand boy, born Liverpool
Ann PRITCHARD, 12 daughter, Scholar, born Liverpool
Ellen PRITCHARD, 6, daughter, Scholar, born Liverpool
Jim PRITCHARD, 2, son, born Liverpool
As you can see by the ages she should be married in 1871 and have at least 3
children with her including my g.grandfather John who should be about 12 in
1871 (I have him elsewhere in 1881). Her husband's name was John also and
shown on g.grandfather's marriage certificate in 1883 as book-keeper
(deceased).
I recently found POVALL using other means transcribed as BRALL!!
Any help much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Barbara in Sydney via Liverpool
