So my initial assumption was correct, then. :-)
Faced with the choice of transcribing for a site which is freely available
to all & one which charges for access but crosses the transcriber's palm
with "freebies", one plumps for the latter.
No problem. Like everyone else I'm extremely grateful to all volunteer
transcribers everywhere, whatever their motive. But I personally will NEVER
subscribe
to a pay-per-view site which has effectively poached
potential transcribers away from a free-access site by pandering to the
human weakness for "something for nothing".
(No offence intended, Vern, I promise you.)
